The Vaughan Red Wings and Oakville Rangers both opened their inaugural Premier season in Oakville on Sunday night. The Rangers had their home opener spoiled by the VRW as the young Wings come away with a 9-0 victory. Steve Ceccanese with five points and Sam Renda with four points are too much to handle as the Wings open in fine fashion.

The revamped Mississauga Hawks opened with a shootout victory over the visiting Niagara Generals. The Hawks blew a 2-0 lead late in the game as the Generals score two goals in a 44 second span to gain a point on the road. A shootout goal from Charlie Giffin secured his club a 3-2 win and an extra point with the penalty shot winner.

The Metro Orangemen looking for an opening night victory had to contend with the Toronto Thunder. The young Orangemen looked poised for two points as they opened up a 3 -2 lead at half. A pair of goals by Jason Arruda steals the thunder from the Orangemen on opening night making the final 5-3.

On Wednesday night both the Oshawa Bruins and Oakville Rangers travelled to Vaughan to faceoff for the first time in history. An intense battle saw the Bruins open up 2-0 and 4-2 leads. The Rangers would not be denied on this night and a pair of goals from Dave Peragine would send this game to a shootout. Peragine and Jesse Calabro, with the game winner in the shootout, would give their expansion franchise its first ever victory 5-4.

The Mississauga Hawks versus the Toronto Polar Bears was the final game of the opening week. The Hawks would come out flat and the Bears take advantage and would open up a 3-2 first period lead.
