Premier BHLWith the concluded Canada Cup of Ball Hockey Qualifying Tournament the Premier saw a schedule of only six games on the docket. Oakville Rangers would get a visit paid by the Brampton Express and each team would be in action as we hit the midway point of the season.

Sunday, May 27 @ Glen Abbey CC, Oakville
The Brampton Express would make their trip to Oakville a success as they come away with a 5-0 victory. Adam Bevilaqua, Vic Azevedo, Matt Paul and Brandon Ianuzzi would all have a multi point game as the Express look to regain top spot in the Premier Division. The Rangers sit only three points out of the final playoff spot with the games quickly dwindling.

Wednesday, May 30 @ Downsview Arena, Toronto
A five game win streak by the Toronto Polar Bears came to an end with a 4-0 loss to the Metro Orangemen. Craig Flegal came away with the shutout and the Orangemen make precious ground on the clubs ahead of them. Don’t look now but the Orangemen have solved their goal scoring woes and are becoming serious contenders.

Oshawa after a semi final appearance over the weekend in the Canada Cup tournament came to Toronto looking for an important two points. A Marco Goncalves shorthanded goal early in the first would stand as the game winner as the Thunder come away with a 3-2 victory over the visiting Bruins. Andy Pacheco would add a goal and an assist in the win.

Wednesday, May 30 @ Al Palladini CC, Vaughan
Suffering from the dreaded post victory hangover the Mississauga Hawks were no competition to the Express as the Brampton snipers fire six past a duo of goaltenders. Frankie Giustini with a highlight reel goal is one of six different scorers on the night. Hawks get swept by the Express on the season outscored 11-2. The Hawks find themselves slipping to eighth place in the Premier.

Vaughan Red Wings came away with a 3-2 victory over the visiting Niagara Generals. Bianca, Polesel with his league leading tenth goal and Sam Renda all score to keep Vaughan in top spot. This game was a goaltending duel as both Ferrante and Serniak showed why they are two of the top tenders in the league. Niagara next faces the Express in Niagara.

St. Michael’s in the night cap coasts to a 6-0 victory over the Oakville Rangers. Frank Zuccaro with three points leads the way offensively. Anthony Flores picks up the shut and looks to be leading his club to their first playoff appearance. Oakville has been shutout in three straight games by the Bears, Express and St. Mike’s.
