After yet another grueling Masters season, the Venetian Lions laid claim to the Championship, earning a berth to the inaugural OBHA Winter Provincial Championships in London.
The Lions would play the underdog Saints in the finals after the Saints ousted the favoured Falco Steelers in their semi final matchup. The Lions would come through the semi finals after putting up two dominant efforts against the Jaguars and take the series two straight.
The final series was a classic goaltenders dual, with Alessandro Lamanna for the Saints and Tony Iozzo for the Lions, standing on their heads. Both goalies put in great efforts for their teams and both games would be won by the Lions, 2-1. Game two would take double overtime to decide and early in the second OT Vic Bonifazi would put it away ending the season and had the Lions host the trophy.
Without a shadow of doubt, the playoff MVP for the Lions was their goaltender Tony Iozzo. Congratulations to GM Domenic Cannatelli and the entire team on another well deserved title!
