Premier BHLYou can never really predict what will happen in sports. Regardless of the sport the players or the venue you just never know what will happen when the ball drops. The North York Hitmen who swept the Toronto Thunder in their semi-final matchup had to sit and wait for the Metro Orangemen and Vaughan Red Wings series to end before their opponent could be named. After the thrilling come from behind victory in OT by the Wings game three was up for grabs. The Orangemen dominated the entire season and it would rest on this do or die game three. The Wings roughing it out throughout the season needed a victory in their last regular season game to secure a post season seed and a date with the Orangemen in the semi-finals. The stage had been set and both teams were ready to go.

The Wings riding the momentum from their game two victory came out on fire and before the spectators had settled in the score was 3-0 Wings. Goals from Helder DaCunha, Frank Costa and Shawn McCalla had the Orangemen down early. The Orangemen were behind and would need to find some offence. A PP opportunity late in the first was rewarded as Sergio Vidal buried the goal and the Orangemen had life. The game would go to half 3-1 Wings. The Orangemen were hit by the injury bug and missing four starting defencemen in Chris Cerqueira, Adam Carreria, Robert Cardoso and Danny Novis started to take its toll on the remaining defencemen in the lineup. The Wings continued to use their speed and tenacious fore check to keep the pressure on the Orangemen defence core. The Wings used their fore check to stifle any breakout the Orangemen attempted and were rewarded again as both Anthony Metallo and Joe Serpe found the back of the goal behind Anthony Flores. The final score would be 5-1 Wings.
