Congratulations to the 2011 Fall Tier 2 Award Winners. The following players were chosen as the top regular season performers at their respective positions.
Top Manager/Coach - The Top Coach was awarded to Remo Settimo of the Toronto Titans. Remo lead his club to a first place finish as the Titans ended the season on an eight game undefeated streak. A veteran of the sport Remo’s passion and desire for the sport is of the highest degree.
Scoring Champion - Frankie Giustini of the Vaughan Pylons was the Fall’s Top Sniper as this superstar of the sport led the league with a remarkable 20 goals and 16 assists for 36 points in only 12 games. Giustini averaged three points per game in leading the Pylons to a top three finish.
Most Valuable Defenceman - Repeating as the division’s Top Defencemen the honour goes to Victor Azevado of the North York Hitmen. This young star plays a staggering twenty minutes a game as he controls the pace and tempo of the game from the blueline. Victor led all defencemen in scoring as he finished with 15 points scoring 4 times and adding 11 helpers.
Most Valuable Goaltender - Leading the league with a 1.60 GAA and .906 Save Percentage and finishing second in wins this session’s winner as the Top Goaltender goes to North York Hitmen Franco Scipione. Thanks to Franco, the Hitmen gave up a league low 22 goals against. This lanky goaltender gives opposing shooters very little to shoot at and covers angles and rebounds to allow minimal second chance shots to beat him.
Most Valuable Forward – Dillu Kalhar of the Mississauga Islanders has been named Top Forward for the Fall season. Dillu involved in nearly fifty percent of his team’s goals was critical in the Islanders securing a playoff seed. Finishing third in scoring, there were many highlight reel goals in Dillu’s 12 markers. This underrated scoring forward will certainly become a superstar for years to come.
