So it took me a couple of weeks...four out of four...that puts me with a positive 5-3 record handicapping the playoffs...somebody woke up Giustini...was it the GPB, if it was I apologize to the Red Wings...the Bastone, played the law of averages and Bastone paid off in game two...I did take the Hitmen and even a broken clock is right twice a day...finally the mighty, mighty Titans sweep away the Islanders...four out of four not bad if I do say so myself...and picked them all myself without any help from my President who’s left me for greener pastures...there were ten, then eight, now four and soon two and eventually one...

#1 Toronto Titans vs. #8 Mississauga Islanders
I thought only witches and the cleaner at the Hangar had broom sticks...I was wrong the Titans sweep away the Islanders who fight with all their might only to fall a shot short in each game...game two ends 2-1...Settimo looked like a kid in a candy store as his club coasts into the second round...Kakish and Stavrou never get off floor and when they do Settimo stares them back on...Mallozzi shines in both games as the number of odd men rushes favours the Titans...come to think of it many of the Titans are ODD...they enjoy two on ones and three on twos...

#2 North York Hitmen vs. #7 Pit Demons
Three minutes away from OT...three minutes...three minutes...Dr. Jekyll , Mr. Hyde, JD, FD and the crew every time you hear the word three, read the number three, count to three, think of three just remember you were three minutes away...the title of this report could have referred to you...27 minutes of perfecto ball hockey all given away...make the final Hitmen 3 Demons 2...what you did give was Pick Your Poison Gaetano a contract extension...his contract clearly states beat the Demons and get a three week extension...by the way anyone know the where bout’s of Hitmen GM Ventullo...rumour has it when it was 2-0 he was interviewing possible head coaches to replace Gaetano...three goals in three minutes has to be a Hitmen record...quick check the record book to verify...

#3 Pylini the Great vs. #6 Red Wings
Great name for a magician Pylini The Great, the greatest show on concrete...the one man wrecking crew Frankie Pylini grabs his team by the Balini’s and snipes four goals in a 6-5 game two victory and totals five goals for the series...let’s see that’s more goals than the Pit Demons, Islanders, Nordiques, Hitmen (minus three empty netters) scored as a team in the first round...even the mighty Titans scored only six as a team...can anyone Stop this goal scoring machine?...Red Wings what can the GPB say you played hard until the last whistle blew...for that the GPB salutes you...

#4 North York Nordiques vs. #5 Bastone
Upset...whenever a five beats a four its hardly an upset...the GPB did pick the Bastone both weeks...they were paying $6.50 on ProLine you had to take them, along with the Titans paying $1.10 and the Pylons at $1.70 great odds to make some cash...Nordiques are shocked as the final score in game two reads 4-1...how many first year Tier 2 teams win a Regional seed?...good learning experience for this young crew as the GPB for sees this group as contenders for years to come...as the only Ventullo in the house on this night The Other Brother gets to walk out holding his head high...

GPB Semi-Final Predictions...
#1 Toronto Titans vs. #4 Bastone
Offence – Titans, too many weapons...
Defence – Draw, both sides stingy...
Goaltending – Draw, Hartill and Liakopoulos both stand tall...
Coaching – Draw, Settimo versus Ventullo, maybe we could have an arm wrestling contest to break the draw...
Discipline – Bastone, Titans could lose cool quickly if series not going their way...
Game 1 – close battle ends in a 2-2 tie... Bastone score early in OT to steal game one...

#2 North York Hitmen vs. #4 Vaughan Pylons
Offence – Giustini, enough said about that...
Defence – Hitmen, Azevado and his five partners usually keep opponents to fewer than two goals...
Goaltending – Hitmen, Scipione and his eight foot tall pads...
Coaching – Hitmen, Gaetano is a mastermind at dissecting game notes that Ventullo secretly compiles by watching every Tier 2 game...
Discipline – Pylons, Hitmen can explode at any time...
Game 1 – on paper it all points to the Hitmen...but Giustini’s good for four goals in series...Pylons 3 Hitmen 1...Giustini with a pair...

Call Of the Pooh Bah...
1. Jes Calabro (Titans) - where is the goal scoring touch we’re use to...
2. Peter Bello (Hitmen) - you will be needed to score one goal if the Hitmen are to advance...
3. Pylons - secondary scoring do they have any...
4. Anthony Novia (Bastone) - put it in to fifth gear we know you have it...
5. Pit Demons - only three minutes away...

Final Thought...
“Don’t ever quit, winners never quit and quitters never win”...

Till Next Week...
