More Hardware for the 'League Of Champions'

The 2018 Winter Provincials was another successful weekend for our teams.

This past weekend ten of our teams competed at the 2018 Ontario Ball Hockey Federation's Winter Provincials in Barrie. We also had another four teams competing in the Men's A Provincials.

In the 'B' Championship final it was an all Downsview Park final and The Big Bastone came away with a come from behind 5-4 win over the Thrashers. We had three teams competing in the 'B'. The Garage Guys, who finished in first after the round robin were upset by the Thrashers in the semi-finals. It was a great showing for all our teams and everyone should hold their heads high after a fantastic weekend of games in the 'B' division.

The 'C' division was comprised of 18 teams across the province. We had four entries, Brampton Predators, Saints, Toronto Kings and Toronto Spargulls. Two of our teams made it to the playoff rounds, The Saints lost in the semi-finals and the Toronto Kings would lose a heartbreaker in the quarters. Thanks to all four teams for participating and earning some provincial play experience.

Three more of our teams competed in the 'D' Provincials with the Toronto Goodfellas and Autobots both winning their respective divisions. The Flyers would fall short in their bid to advance. The Toronto Goodfellas would get upset in the QF and the Autobots would also fall in the SF. It was a still a very respectable showing for our teams.

During all this the cream of the crop were battling it out in the OBHF 'A' Summer Provincials with a right to claim the first Ontario seed for the 2019 Canadian Ball Hockey Association's National Championships. Four of our teams would take a stab at earning a spot but it wasn't meant to be. We would however take home a Silver medal as the North York Hitmen would lose in the final to New Tecumseth Xtreme 5-1.

At this time we would like to thank all of our players, coaches and management staff for setting the standard and being professionals on and off the floor. Next up are the Over 40 Provincials in June as we will have at least three entries and another chance to bring home GOLD!
